Anthrax and Lamb of God still bring it!
This was a great lineup! Anthrax brought a ton of energy and covered most of their old catalog with a few of the newer songs. Randy Blythe of Lamb of God is insane! He was like a mad man sprinting around the stage, yet he still had a way of making you feel like he was talking directly to you in between songs.
The opener Power Trip is further proof that thrash metal is still alive and well. I think they have a bright future ahead of them. The second opener, Deafhaven were decent musicians but really didn't jive with the crowd. They are a melodic death metal-type band that the thrash-loving crowd just didn't get. Overall it was an amazing show!
My only complaint is about the venue. While standing on the edges of the floor, doing our best to keep our distance from the pit, many people insisted on trying to mosh outside of the pit. It got to the point that we eventually ended up standing by the side bar to avoid being slammed into.
